My unimpressive track record regarding women and relationships continues. Recently, Angie text'ed me and told me she didn't think we were clicking as anything more than friends. I'm pretty used to hearing some variation of "the friends speech". I can honestly say I'm not disappointed by this latest development. Well, no more so than anyone else would be at finding himself back at "square 1".
Alas, I was pondering the uniqueness of receiving this message via text message. It's my first "txt dump". I ended up compiling a list of the various ways I've been dumped or received "the friends speech". Here's what I came up with:
- In person
- Over the phone
- Via instant message (specifically, I remember it was AIM)
- Via email (yeah, classy)
- Via text message
This is an interesting list and got me thinking about how I could add more diversity to the list. What other dumping methods can I add to this list?
- Snail mail
- Radio
- TV (Seriously, how cool would it be to get dumped on the local evening news?)
- Billboard
- Scrolling building marquee (like the ones in the movies with the very convenient "news flashes")
- Cake (instead of "Happy Birthday", it might read "I want to see other people")
- Post-It Note
- Lipstick on a mirror
- Facebook Wall-to-Wall
- Twitter reply
It's clear that the possibilities could go on and on. I really want to look to see if there's a Guiness world record for "Greatest Number of Unique Dumpings". It would be kinda cool to snag the title.
