Being Real

Read this today in "Our Daily Bread":

"An antique dealer thought the wrinkled old baseball card she found might be worth $10. After posting it on eBay, she began to wonder if it might be more valuable than she had thought. She removed the posting and consulted a professional evaluator who confirmed that the photo on the 1869 card showed the Cincinnati Red Stockings, the first professional baseball team in the US. The card sold for more than $75,000.

Mike Osegueda’s article in The Fresno Bee said that even though the card was creased and discolored, the most important thing was its authenticity—it was real." (http://www.rbc.org/devotionals/our-daily-bread/2010/02/24/devotion.aspx)

Discovering re-discovery

Playing on the iPod: "Stolen" by Dashboard Confessional, "Our God Is With Us" by Steven Curtis Chapman and "Everything" by Lifehouse.

I have written anything lately because, well, I just never knew what to write. These past few months have been a bit of an emotional roller coaster. But, I think I'm finally ready to put some of my thoughts into words. Looking back, I can see that my life has spiraled downward in many ways. I sit and think about how much of it I want to share on here. Do I really want everyone to know everything? It's time to be vulnerable.

Boring weekend

Playing on the jukebox: the "Offerings II" CD from Third Day.

What a boring weekend! I enjoyed not having to work, but, man, was it boring! I suppose some of that can be blamed on me being downright lazy. I did my laundry Saturday - does that help?
