I don't hate hippies. But, if I needed a reason to, I have found it: flip-flops.

Free Agent

I made mention of a young woman with whom I had begun a relationship with. Well, that same relationship has recently come to an end. It's quite possibly the most positive breakup I've experienced. We both had begun to feel like something was missing. The phone conversations became less satisfying. My interest had begun to lessen such that I called her less and less. I finally bit the bullet, threw it all out on the table, and found I wasn't alone.
You wouldn't think of the end of a relationship with someone you really like as a good thing. However, it's such a relief to know that I'm not tied up in something that, quite frankly, neither one of us believes is what God wants for us. Both apiritual and emotional maturity prevailed and we released each other to be free to pursue whatever opportunities the Lord brings to us on our respective ends of the country.
So, yes, I'm a free agent again.

I got a new job!

I got the account manager job that I had been trying for! This was the third time my company was looking to find people for this new position. When the position was first created, people were approached about the position. The second time, two of the positions opened up an official selection process was begun. I interviewed for the job that time, but was not selected. The hiring manager, Kimberley, told me I was a front-runner and told me what she thought I could improve upon for the next time I interview.

I find myself with tons of thoughts in my head that are dying to get out. It's been almost a year since I last journaled any real thoughts - apart from musical worship. So much has changed since last fall

Two Steps Forward, One Step Back
Submitted by jshinall on Mon, 10/23/2006 - 23:55.Playing on the iPod: "Please Come" "Small Enough" and "Hold On" by Nichole Nordeman.
I've been taking stock of life recently. The last year has had its share of joy and disappointment. I bought a house, but I'm burdened by expensive projects. I have gotten pretty good at my job, but I'm getting burnt out. I made quite a bit of money this sumer by working a lot of overtime, but I lost so much of my own time. I was able to repair the water damage my guest bathroom, but I managed to mess up the tub support. I got a roommate to charge rent and split utilities with, but it's like pulling teeth to get him to pay...
